My owner died and when no one in the family wanted me I was taken to the Franklin County Animal Shelter. I was terrified at the shelter so the shelter contacted Harlequin Haven Great Dane Rescue. They came for me the very next day!!

Update: Check out my new pictures below!!

Update: When I arrived in December everyone assumed I would be ready for adoption in a month. After all, I only needed to be spayed, updated on vaccinations etc., and of course temperment tested. Well nothing has gone as planned. The first sign something was not right is that I was not eating enough to survive. So off to the vet I went and it was decided to do blood work on me to figure out what was going on. My liver values were high so I was put on Denamarin, Ursodiol and a couple of other medications. My spay appointment was set for a month later. Well it now has become a ritual that once a month I go visit my friends at the vets office and have a blood test then I come back home. At first the thought was that I would be able to come off the Denamarin but test proved that to be wrong. This past week I went again and all my levels are within normal limits but my liver values were high normal so I am waiting another month. My vet is hopeful that I will be spayed at the end of June. Of course I am still a picky eater!!!

Update: Well no surgery again today. My liver values were doubled what they were last month. So on July 16th I will go in and have exploratory surgery if nothing jumps out at them they will biopsy my liver and while they are in they will spay me. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers and if at all possible can you make a donation to help the rescue to pay for my medical bills. The Denamarin and the Ursodiol is costing the rescue $170 per month plus $100 for a blood test monthly. I am afraid to think what the surgery is going to cost!!! Just to show you that I am really worth all this trouble and money Grandma has been taking pictures of me playing in the yard, I have shared them below.

Please can you spare a few dollars to help the Rescue continue to help me and other Danes like me? It would be greatly appreciated. Without the Rescue who knows where we would have ended up!!
Thanks, Zena
