Harlequin Haven Great Dane Rescue

I was dumped to fend for myself in rural Boyd County KY and was sent to the Boyd County Animal Shelter. The shelter was overflowing with other homeless dogs and in my condition they knew no one would ever adopt me so they contacted Harlequin Haven. As soon as my stray time was up HHGDR was there for me. I am a mess with being emaciated and having Demodectic Mange. I am at least 50 pounds underweight and have a long road to recovery.

Update September 20: I have been at the rescue a week and already I feel much better. I have been heartworm tested and am negative, I was loaded with worms and have received medicine to get rid of them plus I have started the treatment for my mange and am on antibiotics. Within 24 hours of arriving the swelling in my paws had went away! I get several meals each day (6 to be exact!) and the amount has increased daily!! Ya know a girl could get used to this kind of treatment!!

Update September 30: I continue to improve! My hair is coming back in and I feel great!! Hopefully soon Grandma will take new pics of me to show how much better I look. Yes, I still have a long ways to go but I am improving daily! Well it is meal time again and I LOVE my food!!!

Update October 12: Grandma says I am getting better everyday and soon I will be ready for adoption but not quite yet!! Check out my updated picture!!

Update November 3: My surgery will be scheduled soon I will be spayed and then I will be ready for adoption!! I can't wait!!

Update November 10: I have been spayed and am NOW ready for adoption!! Grandma tried to get a new picture of me but I was too busy running and playing!!

Please can you spare a few dollars to help the Rescue continue to help me and other Danes like me it would be greatly  appreciated. Without the rescue who knows where I would have ended up!!
